The River Retreat is on the
Swan Valley Tourist drive and couldn’t be more ideally located… The property
stretches from West Swan Rd
to the upper reaches of the Swan River, where you can find mature bushland and
nature walk trails. Within a short walk of the cottages, there are four
restaurants, a micro brewery and a golf course.
You can drive to the
valley in just over 30 minutes from Perth CBD and less than that from Perth’s
domestic or international airports. Connections via bus and train are through
Midland station and transfers can be arranged.
Transfers
We suggest that to enjoy
the Swan Valley to
its full potential a car is recommended. Hire cars are available from many firms
and we can suggest several if required. Alternatively hire car firms and taxi
services operate from both Domestic and International airports.
You can drive on your
overseas licence for up to 12months from your arrival or until the licence
expires. If your licence is not in English, it is advisable to carry an
international Driving Permit when you drive.

provide a 2 way city transfer. pick up from city hotels at approx 10.00am arrive
at The River Retreat at approx 11.30am. return transfers pick up from The River
Retreat at approx 3.30pm & return to the city via Chocolate Factory with city
arrival at approx 4.45pm. $25.00 per adult & $12.50 per child. Bookings
via The River Retreat.

The Gateway to the Swan
Valley is Guildford.
If you are coming from the
International or Domestic
Airports
turn right (on exiting airports).
• When on Great Eastern Hwy
follow the signs to Guildford.
• Turn right at the Guildford Hotel (T junction) into James Street.
If you are coming from
Perth
follow Great Eastern Highway or Guildford Road to Guildford.
• At Guildford (historic
James Street Precinct) Turn left at the Meadow Street traffic lights (also
signposted Swan Valley Drive 203).
• Cross the railway line and continue straight on past the Post Office & Old
Goal complex. ( This also houses the Regional Visitor Information Centre).
• After crossing the bridge you will find yourself on West Swan Road.
• Continue on for 10 kilometers and you will see the sign for the retreat on
your right.
